As women we have a tendency to put ourselves second to everyone. This is not only for mothers wives, but unmarried women as well. We sometimes lose ourselves in the needs and cares of one another as form of validation vs. true service to mankind.
Most of us are nurturers by God’s design, we want to care for one another, we want everyone to be alright and comfortable with everything they need, but do you ever stop to consider your needs? When was the last time you did a pulse check to make sure you were alright and your needs were met?
When we take time to care for ourselves mentally, physically, spiritually and socially we learn to serve from a place of love vs. an order. Living in a place where you feel “ordered” to do anything can hinder the spirit of serving in love. Similar to what a prisoner may experience-something forced upon us. Why would anyone want to feel FORCED to do anything?
Below are some of my favorite scriptures to remind me of who God says I am and that I am worth the time taken to get back to me! In your quiet time read these scriptures and meditate on how these scriptures can be applied in your life. Not only will you find that you’re worth it, you will also find God says you’re worth it.
Ephesians 2:10 eSV For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
1 Peter 2:9 ESV But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Isaiah 43:4 ESV Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life.
Song of Solomon 4:7 ESV You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.
1 Peter 3:3-4 ESV Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.
Luke 12:7 ESV Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.
To Your Royal Life,
